Hot Gula Melaka Kurma Tea
Gula Melaka adds another depth of flavour in this comforting drink.

Ingredients
Gula Melaka Syrup

Water 70 ml

Gula Melaka (palm sugar), roughly chopped 150 g
Tea

Hot Water 300 ml

Dates, diced 4 pc

Gula Melaka Syrup, or to taste 4 tbsp
Preparation

Gula Melaka Syrup
- Place Gula Melaka and water in a heavy bottom pan and boil over medium heat until the Gula Melaka melts.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes until the syrup becomes thick and colour resembles a rich caramel. Extra syrup can be stored in the fridge.

Tea
- Steep Lipton Yellow Label tea bags and diced dates in hot water for 4 minutes.
- Divide Gula Melaka syrup into 2 glasses.

Assembly
- Pour the hot tea in each glass and serve immediately.
